Do you have an English or Dutch version of Windows (or Vista) on
your computer?  If you are using a local version, WL Mail
probably installed Dutch help files by default.

I am based in the UK and when I clicked on "Help", my browser
opened the English help files URL at
"http://help.live.com/help.aspx?mkt=en-gb&project=WL_Mailv3&querytype=&query="

As a quick workaround, you could enter that URL in your browser (or "http://help.live.com/help.aspx?mkt=en-us&project=WL_Mailv3&querytype=&query=", if you prefer the American version).

There is a possible alternative, but I don't know whether the
following suggestion will work.  However, you could experiment as
follows (at your own risk):

1.    Back up your message files and folders

2.    Uninstall WL Mail

3.    Open Control Panel / Regional & Language Options.  Under
Regional Options, change both settings to an English speaking
location, such as UK or USA.

4.    Reboot your computer and reinstall WL Mail.

5.    Clicking on Help point to the English language files.

6.    Open Control Panel and change the Regional Options back to
Dutch (Belgium) and the location back to Belgium.

Is this a Live ID ?
Is this a Hotmail account in use in Windows Live Mail or Windows Live Hotmail(the web interface at mail.live.com) ?
Are you referring to 'Help' in Windows Live Mail or Windows Live Hotmail ?

If the web interface, multiple settings for 'country' configuration are available:
1. Profile.live.com, click on Details to access the options(About You) for your profile
2. Account.live.com, click on Registered Information

If Windows Live Mail, did you install the correct regional language version when selecting the download at download.live.com ?

This is a Windows Live Mail web interface, the ? button, Get Help in mail.
On installation English is the chosen language and all the screen language
is in English.
In the web profile my language is English
My home address is Switzerland
(note that this is a multi language country,
Zurich-German,Lugan-Italian,Geneva-French)
I put my workplace as United Kingdom,England thinking this might help, but
no it still opens in German.
I also get some pop up adverts in German, i assume this is because MS
Switerland are in Zurich or maybe my IP address indicates Switzerland.
Anyway thanks for your interest.
The reason I wanted help was 'How to synchronise Windows Mail with Live Mail'
I'm still looking

Windows Mail(WM) doesn't sync with Windows Live Mail(WLM) or vice versa.
All that one can do is import/export data using the WLM interface.

WM doesn't have an option to import from WLM
- development ceased on WM before WLM was finalized

Windows Live Mail is an email program installed on a computer. It downloads
from email servers. It must be downloaded and installed. It runs on XP,
Vista, or Win 7.
Windows Mail is an email program that comes as part of the Vista operating
system.

From your original question, it seems that you are using your browser to
access ....live.com and when you click on Help, the language changes to
German. I don't know the answer to that question.

Now you state, "The reason I wanted help was 'How to synchronise Windows
Mail with Live Mail'"

You have to download and install Windows Live Mail and setup a http account
to synchronize with a hotmail, live, or msn account.
download.live.com/wlmail Uncheck programs that you don't want. In WLMail,
Alt + T, Accounts, Add, E-mail account, enter your full email address,
password and display name. If WLMail imports accounts from other email
programs, the accounts will use pop or IMAP access. To get http access, you
have to setup a new account.

Thanks for your reply which helped me to understand the process.I'll try out
your suggestions.
As to language it seems there are anomalies in multi language countries. The
MS office will be in one area and the customers all over. In my household we
are also multiligual English /French and have fights over which programmes to
install in which language.
