We have seen this problem before, regarding a 'Read receipt' not
sending. If that's what it is, the developers are aware of it.

The error does seem to come up more frequently on reply than on new mail. I
will try to copy paste respondance to a new mail and see if that corrects the
problem or at least gives a work around.
Someone asked about "Panda" no I'm not using that. Just Microsoft. I'm
thinking about going back to TBird or Ms Office Outlook.
Thanks,

There was no "Read Receit", at times there have been mutiple names in a
forward. But the names are to people that I have emailed a 1000 times with no
problem. I can clean out all out going email and the problem clears up for 15
to 20 out going emails and then reappears.

Google on Server error 556 Null byte in data returned the following that may
help:

<http://eudorabb.qualcomm.com/showthread.php?t=11009>
Seems to suggest a problem with attachment naming - spaces in the file name
specifically.

<http://dot.kde.org/999428101/999511388/999537639/1016671970/1018185020/1081923220/1091989558/>

Note this problem seems to occur in several email clients and is not unique
to WLM.

So you're not using any antivirus?

Your original post DID have a read receipt, if you look back at it. I am
having the EXACT same problem and am also using Bellsouth as my DSL
provider. Everything else that I send goes fine, even with multiple
recipients. If there is a stuck read receipt in my outbox, however, nothing
sends until I delete it.

This is so exasperating but I am glad the developers are aware of it.

It's right there in the subject line! READ: Ras cleaning up yards after
Katrina

It was the read receipt that got hung up in the outbox.

Right. Except it's not really "hung" in the outbox.
It was rejected by the server during the SMTP transaction
because of malformed data.

You missed the point. The post that would not send from the original
poster's mailbox was a receipt for a read request. Those are the same ones
that won't send from my outbox.

Oh Yes, McAfee. Ihave gone back to wWindows Mail and the problem has stopped.
I'm looking at removing WLM completely and reinstalling. If that doesn't work
I'll have to remove WLM until the next Beta.

Just wanted to let you know that quite a few folks have reported
incompatibility problems between Windows Mail and McAfee antivirus.
It usually takes a while before problems start showing up.

Thanks, I have used McAfee for several years and have had some minor
interferences with othe programs. I consider this to be minor unless the
email is important.
But I will keep your suggestion in mind and check with McAfee.

Not that kind of read receipt. What I was saying is that it was a 'read
receipt' in her outbox that refused to send. It wasn't a regular email
letter.
