I set up my mail, contacts & calendar for my non-windows live mail email
address on my desktop and everything was fine.
I created a new email address with windows live mail on-line and everything
was fine.
I added the new, windows live email account to my wlm on the desktop, and
everything WAS NOT FINE - all of my contacts and calendars "disappeared".
I have no contacts or calendars on-line and want to keep it that way.

I found the recommendation to set TOOLS/OPTIONS/CONNECTION/ to "Stop signing
in" and did that.
My contacts came back.
My calendars did not.

How do I get my Calendars back?

Thanks!

OK. I found my calendars on-line at my new windows live place. I am glad they
haven't totally disappear, but still ...
How do I get my calendars back on my desktop - not online?

Adding a Live account to your Windows Live Mail is not what caused
the changes. Electing to "sign in" with that Live ID is what caused the
changes. Windows Live Mail can have:

a) contacts associated with a specific Live ID
b) default contacts not associated with a Live Id
c) a calendar associated with a Live ID
d) a default calendar not associated with a live ID.
(I'm not sure about that last one, since I don't use the calendar feature.)

You apparently created your calendar while you had Windows Live Mail
signing in to your Live ID. When you stopped signing in, it disassociated
your Windows Live Mail from that calendar.

Gary,
I used WLMail for several months without signing in. I added some events to
the Calendar.
When I did sign in, my events were uploaded and removed from my not signed
in Calendar.
I was playing with the Calendar to see how it worked, so I wasn't depending
on it. I haven't tried to get my events back from the online Calendar.

I've never encountered previous created events being uploaded from the default calendar(no sign in to Live) to the web UI. Nor do
I think it is possible for WLM to get the events from the online calendar and place them on the default(no sign in to Live)
calendar.

You might try copying the calendar database file from the Live ID folder to the default Calendar DBStore folder
- WLCalendarStore.edb
Though iirc earlier testing, you might get an error when opening WLM.
