I can't seem to get Art mail created in Outlook Express to work properly in
Windows Live mail. Message comes up that one or more Active X controls could
not be displayed because either:
1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this
page or
2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls.

As a result the page might not display correctly.

I have checked all security settings but .........

Any suggestions appreciated

To be honest I've never tried this but I would think that WLMail simply does
not support the ActiveX controls required to do Art mail.
Unfortunately WLMail does not have an API whereby you could plug in the
ActiveX control to make it work.

The only suggestion that I can think of is that WLMail does inherit some
settings from Internet Explorer. You would need to check whether Internet
Explorer has ActiveX enabled and also that the site is within your trusted
sites policy, although for emails I would think that should be covered under
http://localhost.

Details? What does that mean? Be aware that WLMail like OE runs normally
in the restricted security zone and this would account for your symptom.

You can lower your security settings in Windows Live Mail, thereby
allowing scripts (such as ActiveX) to run:
Tools, Safety Options, Security, Internet zone.

Thanks Gary but the only items checked in in
Tools/SafetyOptions//Security/(Virus Protection) are Internet zone (Less
secure, but more functional) and Warn me when other applications try to send
mail as me. Nothing there indicating ability to lower or change anything else.

You were in the right place. "Internet zone" has lower security (but is
more functional) than "Restricted zone". There is no other setting that
would affect your issue. If your Windows Live Mail already had
Internet zone selected, I don't know what else to try.
