I have three accounts imported from windows mail.
Each has a separate tree with its own Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Inbox etc.
Then there is the storage folders tree that has Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items,
Inbox etc. along with my actual added folders that I use to store my emails that were
imported.

I have mail configured to empty deleted items folders on exit.
But the deleted items in the specific mail folders don't
get deleted. The one in the storage folder never gets anything in it.

How do I get the deleted items to clear?
Are the Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Inbox folders that
are now in the Storage folders used for anything or can I just
remove them?

Thanks.

Looks like this set under the Storage folders is used for my newsgroup
accounts. At least the Sent Items ...

I don't have an, "Inbox" in my Storage folders. I think that is an artifact
of an import; any account in the older program (MSOE?) Inbox (MSOE had a
global Inbox) is imported to an Inbox under Storage folders. I seem to
recall having moved email from such a folder, then deleting that folder.

Of the remaining, they appear to be default folders, and work in conjunction
with NNTP (News) accounts.

That seems to be the case. At first I wasn't sure that I liked the separate inbox
and deleted items folders but I'm getting used to them.

Can't seem to see how to set the deleted items folders to be deleted on
close of WLM. Setting it in the options only seems to affect the deleted
items folder in the storage folders.

This seems to be working now. Not sure what I did differently.
