I recently downloaded this, and it looks like a decent email client, with
email, inc pop3 and IMAP, and Usenet, and RSS support all in one.

However, my opinion of it took a BIG BIG nosedive today, after I moved an
IMAP account over to it, and now find that Windows Live Mail Beta, decides
that .wmv file attachments are dangerous and deactivates them.

1. I do NOT need Microsoft to decide for me, what is dangerous or not; and
at least give me the option to override that!

2. I now have to run Thunderbird alongside Windows Live Mail beta, so I can
actually get these attachments which I want. They are mainly joke video
clips that a few folks send me.

I'm not prepared to do that in the long term, so unless there is a way to
override "Nanny" Microsoft, Windows Live Mail beta, is going to end up in
the bit bucket here.

So my question is: Is there a way to override these settings?

Eyebee.

Hi, this could be the setting you are looking for: Tools->E-mail safety options...->Security [tab]->Virus Protection [section]-> uncheck 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'.

Peter,

Thank you very much for that. Of course, I could kick myself now. I should
have rummaged around a bit more.
