There was a Hotmail service interruption last night.

I'm getting this error everytime I open Windows Live Mail on my desktop PC
(for the past two weeks now), although I can log into hotmail on the web just
fine. Once in a blue moon, some cosmic ray strikes the computer at just the
right angle such that the sync function actually works.

Some folks seem to have nothing but bad luck with their Hotmail accounts
in Windows Live Mail. Perhaps you should be trying out alternative mail
services such as Gmail.
