how to backup hotmail / outlook.com email folders to hard drive?

Hi,

I have accumulated around 4,657 emails in my Windows Live Hotmail / Outlook.com email folders.

I want to backup of all Windows Live Hotmail / Outlook.com email folder before deleting emails.

How to do?

Hello Davids,

If you want to backup all email folders from Hotmail/Outlook.com user account, then use a third party tool such Hotmail Backup tool ( http://www.hotmail.gmailbackup.org/ ) that helps you to complete backup of all email folders locally.

Install Windows Live Mail 2012. Setup the Hotmail/Outlook.com account.
Once setup it will sync down all messages and folders including
subfolders that are present on the Hotmail/Outlook.com web UI. Do not
interrupt the sync process ( a large volume of message will take time to
sync - i.e. this is walk away and do something else time)

Once complete, use Windows Live Mail's included option to export the
entire account's content (folders, subfolders, messages). Do not choose
the 'Selective option' when exporting/backing up. You will be required
to use a blank folder as the destination for the backup/export. Again -
do not interrupt [walk away time]

Once done the destination folder will have the entire contents in
identical folders as viewed in Windows Live Mail or the
Hotmail/Outlook.com web UI.
- each message in the destination folder/subfolder will be saved as a
single file with the *.eml extension. To view the title or subject of
the messages in Windows Explorer ensure Explorer is configured to show
the column - Title or Subject.

i searched few solution, first you can take pop and imap help if you want to use outlook or any other application or if you want to take backup in perticular file format like pst, eml, emlx, msg or mbox then i will recommend you to try this tool http://www.softaken.com/hotmail-backup-pro this tool developed for taking backup from hotmail to any file extension. hope this answer i helpful for you :)
