What is the difference between the two? I have recently upgraded to Windows
7 and as a result I activated a Windows Live email account. I am able to
access this both from Windows Live Mail (since setting this up on my system)
as well as from Hotmail. They look different and they seem to offer
different features.

I like that I can access my email from either the IE email icon or the icon
on my WLMessenger, but I like the ease of the Hotmail. It seems to have less
features as well. Is there any way to clean things up on the WLM? Is there
an advantage to one over the other for regular use?

Windows Live Hotmail is the service and the email account on the server. It can
be accessed using a web browser or email program configured to access it.
Windows Live Mail is part of Windows Live Essentials and is an installed email
client that natively supports sync of mail with Windows Live Hotmail accounts as
well as other email accounts. It also includes other capabilities.

Ahhh, WLM is part of Windows Essentials. Ok, I thought I had to load it in
order have Hotmail. So, if I want to use Hotmail, I can "add other email"
and receive from old email servers until all is changed over, and I can
access Hotmail from the IE email icon, or the Windows Live Messenger email
icon. Does this mean I need to uninstall WLM or Windows Essentials? Right
now as I have it set up those two links open the WLM. Can I just uninstall
the WLM and keep the other "essentials" and have the links directly to
hotmail?

I appreciate your assistance.

If all you want it to access your Hotmail account with MS Internet Explorer,
you do not need to keep Windows Live Mail installed. The only time you need
an email client is for a service which does not offer web access, or if you
want to keep local copies of your email for offline access.

If you will never use it, but you will use any of the other "Windows Live
Essentials", you can selectively uninstall only Windows Live Mail.
