Hello,

I recently added my Office outlook mail 2010 account to my WLM account, tried
it
for a few days decided I did not like it and deleted my Outlook mail account
from WLM. The only mail account showing in WLM is just that my WLM.

Now my Outlook mail is still showing up in my WLM account, no matter what I
do.
I have tried checking and un-checking several things to see if they would stop
it, no luck. So I put everything back the way it was. I know this sounds like
an
impossible thing to happen but it is. I can address a e-mail to myself in
Outlook, and of course it shows up right away there, but in a few minutes it
shows up in my WLM .

Nothing goes from my WLM to my Outlook mail, just the other way around. Trust
me
I have checked and rechecked everything. I did the proper procedure for
removing
my account from WLM. And it is not there any where. But like I said my Outlook
mail is still going to WLM.

Any and all help appreciated.....Gunny

?Hi, Gunny.

You've got me very confused. :>(

Outlook is NOT an Account. And neither is WLMail.

Each of these is an email CLIENT, which we use to access one or more
accounts. In my case, I have an email account (r...@grandecom.net) with my
ISP (Internet Service Provider), Grande Communications, Inc., here in San
Marcos. I have another email account with MSN (RCW...@msn.com). Both are
POP3 accounts (using Post Office Protocol).

My MSN account is set up on Office Outlook 2010 and I receive a trickle of
email on that account in Outlook. My Grande account is not set up in
Outlook, but it can be if I decide to do it.

Both these accounts are set up here in WLMail, and I receive the same
trickle of MSN mail here. But by far most of my email (and all of my
newsgroups) are received via Grande, and I get that mail only here in WLM,
not in Outlook.

So my MSN mail is duplicated in both email clients. This is OK because, as
I said, that traffic is very light and I use Outlook only as a secondary
just-in-case backup resource.

But I can, when I choose, send mail from my MSN account using either client,
Outlook or WLM. And I can easily send mail from RCW...@msn.com to
r...@grandecom.net using either client. And I can easily use either client to
send from either account to the same account, and receive it in both
clients. And, of course, NONE of the mail goes directly between Outlook and
WLM: Using Outlook, I send mail to MSN, which then sends it to Grande, and
finally Grande sends it to my WLM, for example, or vice-versa.

Outlook and WLM are only the conduits through which my mail passes to get
to/from my MSN and Grande mail accounts.

Does this make sense, Gunny? Or are you as confused as I am? ;^|

With all due respect, there is no such thing as either an, "Outlook" mail
account, or a "WLM" account. There are POP3 email accounts, IMAP email
accounts, and HTTPMail accounts. They have user names, passwords, and email
addresses.

You set up Outlook to access an email account, providing the user name and
password for that email account.

Now, how to address you WLM "account" depends upon what you mean by, "WLM".
At one time, "Windows Live Mail" was the name MS applied to Hotmail when
they were changing things around. Later, they stopped calling "Hotmail"
"Windows Live Mail", and started calling it, "Windows Live Hotmail"; and
they then called their new desktop email client, "Windows Live Mail". So, if
you are talking about a web mail account which you set up to poll a POP3
server, that is different from setting up an email client to poll a POP3
server.

Now, if you can't sort this out, you won't be able to explain what you have
done in a sensible way.

Hopefully, you can improve your description of your problem. At the least,
give us the domain of your "Outlook mail account" ('@comcast.net',
'@yahoo.com', or whatever). And how did you set it up in, "WLM".

Hi RC

Ya I make a mistake, calling them Accounts, my Boo Boo.

Now to answer your questions and erase any confusion you might have.

My provider is AT&T/Yahoo, so I have Yahoo mail too. I don't like Yahoo
mail
so that is why I have Outlook mail as my default mail, and I leave my mail on
the server. Jusr like a back up for my mail in case I delete something I did
not
really want too.

Now I got the great idea to add Outlook mail to my WLM, it was easy to do, a
couple of clicks and it was done. It worked ok but after a few days I decided
to
put them separate again. So I right clicked on my Outlook mail in WLM and one
of
the options was to delete it, so I did, and everything went smooth so I
thought.

Next morning I fired it up and opened my mail in Outlook and after that I
opened
my WLM and low and behold there was all my Outlook mail plus what I normally
get
to mt WLM mail. So I thought I left something un-checked or did not check
something I should. I went into my WLM and looked what mail clients I had and
all that was listed was my WLM client. No Outlook to be seen any where.

I have checked everywhere and trust me there is not anything that even looks
like a Outlook mail. I went into my allowed and my blocked e-mail addresses in
WLM, and there was one entitled sbcglobal.net in my allowed e-mail, so I
thought that was what was allowing my Outlook mail in, so I removed it, and
thought this would fix it. But it did not. So I am stumped.

If you need any more info just ask.

Thanx....Gunny

?You are still confused. What exactly is the email account you are calling
"Outlook mail" that you 'think' you have added to Windows Live Mail?

Hi N Miller

Sorry about the confusion, and things being left out, and unclear with some
items.

Some of these problems are hard to describe, being they are some what
confusing
to me, have patients with me, I will eventually get them all straight.

My domain with Outlook as you call it is sbcglobal.net, and it is a POP 3
setup.
And like I said my provider is AT&T/Yahoo, and I also have Yahoo mail. I
guess you would call this my originator of my mail. I have leave mail on the
server checked with Outlook 2010. And the version of WLM is 2011. And I think
my
problem started when WLM 2011 came in to use. My domain there is live.com.

I deleted my Outlook mail in WLM around the same time this new version of WLM
came into affect

Thanx....Gunny

Okay. So you have email from your ISP (AT&T Yahoo! HSI), and it is in the
'sbcglobal.ne' domain. That is one email account. You also have email from
the Web Mail providers, Yahoo!; that will be in the 'yahoo.com' domain, and
is another account. The way AT&T and Yahoo! work together, that Yahoo!
account may, or may not be merged with the SBC Global account. In which
case, it will act as an "alias", instead of as a separate account.

> I guess you would call this my originator of my mail. I have leave mail on the

So you have another email account with Windows Live Hotmail, and that
account is in the 'live.com' domain.

> I deleted my Outlook mail in WLM around the same time this new version of WLM
> came into affect

As long as you keep thinking in terms of "Outlook Mail", as if it was an
account, you will remain confuse. So forget about that.

You have an "sbcglobal" (more properly, because "sbcglobal" belongs to
"AT&T", you have an "AT&T") email account. You have set up Outlook 2010 to
access that account using the POP3 protocol.

You probably also set up Windows Live Mail to access the same account. In
WLM, accounts are listed in a column on the left side of the Window. Now,
unless you pay for the Yahoo! account, or you merged it with the AT&T
account, you can't use either Outlook 2010, or Windows Live Mail to access
that Yahoo! Mail account. If you have no other accounts than the ones you
have enumerated so far, then in WLM, there should only be the 'live.com'
email account in the list. It might be listed as just, "Live" in the column.

I have Windows Live Mail 2011 (Build 15.4.3508.1109), and my left side
column has "Quick views", my email accounts, the "Outbox", and the "Storage
folders". From what you have said, you should only have three items listed:

"Quick views"
"Live"
"Outbox"
"Storage folders"

If that is all you have, then you should be okay. If you have more, describe
what is in that left hand column.
