I've just formatted my computer and re-installed windows XP Pro Corporate on
it and everything works just fine... except WLMail !! I downloaded the
installation file from the official website (latest version) and installed
the whole Windows Live suite. All its programs seem to work fine (I'm using
WL Messenger right now), but when I launch WLMail (tried all kinds of
shortcuts), the small blue login windows appears, loads, and then disappears
and... nothing happens ! The small WLM icon is in ma taskbar (it is possible
to rightclick it) but it is impossible to display the main window. I don't
understand why as I've used WLM for a while on the very same computer before
!! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it after downloading it again... But
I still have the same problem.
Note: The "wlmail.exe" program does run in taskmanager.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated !
(Hate Outlook 7 !! ;) I love WLM !!)
Thanks,
Anaïs.
I do have WindowBlinds installed on my PC. So that must be it.
What is still a mystery to me, is that I also had WindowBlinds before I
formatted my computer and WLMail worked just fine then !
I will try to unistall WBlinds anyway.
Thanks again !

It would probably help to consider which menu items you see then,
in particular, which ones are inactive, since you can infer from that
what state it is in. Similarly in the case of the window being in normal
mode (e.g. Restore is not available) usually both Size and Move are
available, so then you can resize and reposition the window so that
it is visible and usable. Alternatively, regardless of its state you could
use the Taskbar's commands Tile... or Cascade... on it.
Hint: minimize all other windows before using those operations.

Check to make sure that you aren't deliberately minimizing
the WLMail window when it is launched, e.g. via right-click, Properties,
Run: attribute. I have suggested doing that in order to avoid
the new default of maximizing the application window when
WLMail is launched from a Desktop shortcut. So, if someone
decided to try that idea but didn't really understand why they
were doing it, that could explain a particular case of your symptom. ; )
(e.g. Minimize would be greyed when the Taskbar icon was right-clicked
but clicking it should restore the window to wherever you last left it
and in whatever size you left it in.) So, then it also helps to realize
that there are a couple of pathological cases to consider for that state.
E.g. once you click on the icon the state could change from Minimized
to Normal (Restore was bold is now grey) but no window would be visible
because it could be "positioned" outside the display area or because it
could be "sized" as small as a single pixel or otherwise obscured by
something larger. Etc.
