How do I remove Windows Live Mail format and return to the orginial Hotmail

It is not clear what you mean. Windows Live Mail is not a format,
it is an email client program. Did you mean Windows Live Hotmail?
In the lower left corner of Windows Live Hotmail is a link for
"Switch to Classic."

Until today, when I opened my Hotmail account the mail page was the old
standard. Somehow, my mail page got switched to the Windows Live mail/beta
and I do not like it. I want to see the simple hotmail format not the
windows live format. Swithing to classic is still the windows live format.
My home page, messenger, and my msn are the old versions of hotmail but the
mail page is this new beta junk which I do not like. Please help. I cannot
find a way to opt out of the beta version.

I don't think you can go back. Microsoft is intent on switching
all Hotmail users to Windows Live Hotmail.
Anyway, this is not the right forum for discussing Hotmail.

9/25/07....Not everyone is an expert like you Gary. As a non geek person,
I also do not like the fact that MS is changing our Hotmail to a new system
for the betterment of more professional users. Why can't they leave us Home
users alone instead of nudging us towards the professional programs? I
guess I can figure out how Bill Gates made all his money. Now Gary, since
you are so good at this stuff, why not tell us what is the correct site for
discussing Hotmail?
