Why is my email being sent from my Hotmail account?

I'm using Windows Live Mail on my Vista Premium system. I have my email
account through my ISP (Qwest.net) set as my default account. I just sent
an email to a friend across town and his reply came to my Hotmail account,
which I have set up in WLM, along with my ISP email account and two other
accounts.

Why did this happen? I've only been using WLM for a few days, so I haven't
had a chance to explore it fully.

Never mind. Found it! My fault, my fault! It's over there ------> on the
right of the window. Send From . . . dropdown arrow. See, I said I just
starting using WLM. So far, I'm not overwhelmingly impressed, but it might
grow on me.

Hey, I've been using WLM for several months and it still gets me. Again I ask
whats the point of "default email" if the outgoing address can change just
merely by taking a peek at one of your other accounts?

I suggested in another thread recently that it would be nice if future
builds of WLM gave us a prompt before sending emails on a non-default
account. I hope it will be heeded.

Cheers,
AM

WLM's default account is used when no account folder has
been selected.

Once you get used to WLM's behavior, it doesn't seem so bad.
For years, OE users with multiple accounts have begged for more
program intelligence for choosing which account to originate a
new email from.

I agree. It's handy once you get used to how it works.

i would like to be able to turn this "feature" off, personally. i send
almost all of my emails from the default address, but i have sent several
from the wrong address simply because i was looking at a different inbox when
i decided to email someone.
