How to delete a blog in Windows Live Writer?

When I bring up WLWriter, I go to Tools, Options, Accounts and highlight
the name of my blog. But the Delete button is grayed out. Does anyone
know why? I want to delete this blog.

Where do you want to delete your blog from? Deleting it from Windows Live Writer
removes the blog settings from Live Writer, it does not delete your blog. I
assume that there is no option to delete the blog if it is the only blog
configured in Live Writer.
Is you blog on Windows Live Spaces? If so, sign in with your LiveID at
spaces.live.com and click customize. Then click Options/General and scroll down
for "Delete your space."

Thanks - that worked. But Windows Live Writer still won't let me clear
out the blog account name. I wonder if it takes a day or so to reset?

I don't know if you can remove it if it is the only entry in Windows Live Writer
for blogs. You may need to uninstall Windows Live Writer and remove any stored
data files where the settings are being stored - what OS are you using? I'll
have to see if I can locate the settings.

Uninstalling seems kind of drastic. The delete button is there, its just
grayed out. I wonder if that was my fault? What could gray it out? I'm
using XP Pro, SP3. I kind of liked Live Writer simply because of how well
MS Word interfaced with it. I could write everything I want in MS Word,
then just copy and paste to Live Writer and poof - its online in a blog.

No, it is grey on all of my machines, too. Since I only have a single blog
shown, I think it is not possible to delete the last one. You could configure
another blog and see if you can then delete the one you don't plan to use in
Writer any longer... Or have you already done this?

Frank, it should not be greyed out and should be clickable for any blog. Try
going to Tools, Accounts, then make sure that you click on the name of the
blog in question (so that it all turns blue) then click on delete. Does this
work? Please get back here and let me know.
