New @live.com Account Not Active

I signed up for a "@live.com" e-mail address but now when I sign in to
Windows Live/Mail, it says:

"You don't have an inbox...yet"
It was that earlier message that prompted me to sign up and get an "Inbox"
with my new @live.com e-mail address. When I go to re-sign up, the e-mail
address I choose earlier is no longer available.

Any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you access the account via mail.live.com or via Windows Live Mail

Try the former...
