No more Win2000 support?????

Hi,

I just was forced to install the new version (as we're all) which is ok with
me, but now I'm not able to use it at all.
Since ages I have an old PC with Win2k as a kind of home server where I just
put all my files and stuff like wiki pages, a home mailserver etc. and of
course it's my always online pc for my foldershares too. Worked so great so
far - until today :-(

Am I the only one who's using some older machine exactly for these kinds of
services because they're usually more than capable of handling the network
requests.

FolderShare's new OS requirements is:

Windows XP with SP2 or later,
Windows 2003 Server with SP2 or later, and
Windows Vista

I always have to remind myself that foldershare is free, and therefor there
is really no place for me to complain. However, I would have to add, in the
form of constructive criticism, that I can't fathom why Win2k support was
dropped. I also have a server running Win2k, and though I suppose it could
be upgraded, it makes no sense.

In addition, and I must certainly be wrong, I sure my Win2K foldershare
client worked successfully after the major upgrade, only recently has it
stopped.

Why?

I know several people who recycle old computers for file repositories and
use(d) foldershare. Having to upgrade them now to XP for this single purpose
is not economical and means more old computers will probably be heading for
the dump. I feel Windows XP probably won't be around that much longer either
and then we'll be forced to upgrade or toss our capable old boxes again. Too
bad, this was a really good simple little solution to keep that hardware out
of the dump and ensure we had backups. Maybe there is another free/shareare
solution that does the same and will continue to run of win2K or linux...
