There is a limit to number of files that foldershare can handle. The limit is
10.000 files. That is way to low for me when I syncronise pictures for an
offsite "backup". Of course I can use several shares but please increase the
file limit instead

Agreed, it is way too low, but there hasn't been any sign of Microsoft
wanting to increase that limit. You could email to ask if they could upgrade
your account to the professional level account, but I don't know if they
respond to support email any longer.

I emailed them to see if they would be willing to offer account upgrades to
users that ask for it, and this is the rather generic response I received:

"Hello,

Thank you for writing to us at FolderShare Support. My name is Abigail. I
understand that you would like to suggest upgrading user accounts in
FolderShare. I believe that the following information will address your
concern.

Before anything else, I would like to thank you for your suggestion and for
your interest in using our Product. FolderShare is still in beta phase and
there is no charge to use it, it is free. There is a maximum of ten thousand
(10,000) files per library, and you may create up to ten (10) libraries.

As of the moment, we have not received any updates from our Product Team on
when we will increase the file size limit in FolderShare. Rest assured that
a new version of FolderShare is being developed for latest operating system
versions of Mac and Windows respectively. The FAQ pages will also be updated
on the next release version.

We continually strive to make FolderShare better. I will treat your e-mail
as a feature request and I will be forwarding this to our product team for
review and consideration. Although we do not provide exact dates or the
current features that are being considered for future releases of our
product, you can visit http://www.foldershare.com for more information about
new features or client versions that will be announced.

We appreciate your continued support and strive to provide you with the
highest quality service available. Thank you for using FolderShare.

Sincerely,

Abigail
FolderShare Support"

You can use multiple libraries, and even multiple accounts on one system.
I have also experimented with using multiple accounts simultaneously logged
in, and using various script/batch files to start/stop synchronization, and
SRVANY.EXE to run separate instances of Foldershare.exe with different user
accounts. This is alot of work (wish they would increase # of files or
upgrade accounts), but can be done.

The bigger problem I have encountered involves using Google Desktop
integration. Cannot run multiple instances of Google Desktop Indexing &
logins simultaneously. Perhaps using Virtualization and common file access?

But even without using these complicated scenarios, I have found that the
file indexes on the FolderShare servers tend to become corrupted using just
one account and one library across machines. The corruption does not appear
to be local to the pc's, but on the server side. I have had to delete and
recreate libraries and even FolderShare accounts. Be careful of
filename/path length considerations. NTFS & Windows allow a longer path
length than Foldershare can handle, which will lead to synchronization
failure and possible file/index corruption.

The system does not seem to be robust enough yet and don't know if they have
done any work recently on this version; remember it is BETA.
Still waiting for the "Professional" level accounts.
