We use OE 6 at the office and lately we have been receiving some spam mails
that are always changing (mutating) that hangs outlook express for like 15
minutes when checking the mailbox and then we need to delete the spam mail
through webmail.
This is becoming very annoying. Any idea?

Any error message?

Turn off the e-mail scanning in your anti-virus. It offers no added
protection.

You have to *Time out* max after 5 minutes. Did you click Details after the
time out? Should be an error message.

Since you have McAfee, you can try this: Hold down the Ctrl & Shift keys>Tap
Esc>Find McVSEscn.ese. Click End Now.

I set out the "Time Out" to one minute and then it says it coundt contact
the server, same like if it was without connection to the internet, but as
soon as I check another mailbox that dont have that mail works inmediatelly.
I double checked that McAfee is not active.

Without an error message and # (like 0x800ccc0f) or such, I'm out of ideas.

Sorry,
Bruce

Is there a common thing in From or Subject that you can use in a message
rule to Delete from server?

Hi Thomas,

Use a program like Mail Overseer (www.mailoverseer.com)
which allows you to preview/delete spam (or any message) before it
enters OE
