I keep getting the following error message:
"The download location information is damaged. Please clear your Internet
Explorer browser cache and retry Setup."

I have gone to IE Properties and [Delete Files] including local content.

Any clues?

Just guessing. If that had no effect (after a reboot), you might go to the
windows\downloaded program files directory and see if anything is damaged.

If you already started a download and have a Windows Downloaded Program
Files directory, then try renaming it and download again.

Is it possible, this is being caused by "traffic"?

I get the same crap too. If it's traffic, they should change the error
message. A company like Microsoft shouldn't have traffic problems anyway.
They should be able to anticipate traffic.

I remember on the IE4 Beta's, there was a strange message for heavy traffic
errors too.
Probably same programmer =P

Just got it to install.

Changed the install type from [Full] to [Typical] and it installed just
fine.

Anybody know what the differences are (between [Typical] and [Full])?

First you need to do is to learn how to read Newsgroup header. It's written:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.outlookexpress.wishlist
The browser is NOT relevant for outlookexpress.wishlist. This is not a help
group either.

I am having the same issue. How did you change the install to Typical from full. I can't even get to that point. I have downloaded the IE6 Installer from Microsoft and one other location both installed match in size and date. Howerever neither on will install I get the same message after I aggree to the EULA and click on the Download of 10.5 MB it will now download. MS says Server 2000 can not connect to Widows update. Any Ideas
