I have been instructed by Microsoft to remove a corrupted
version of IE 5.5 and replace it with IE 6.0. The problem
is that my son's computer cannot access web pages since I
think that IE is messed up. Is there any way I can
download IE 6.0 from my computer and then install it on my
son's computer. Or is it possible to buy IE 6.0
somewhere. Thanks for any ideas.

What OS? The only clue you have given tells us that it is not XP
and not Win 95.

Q257249 - Download-Only Setup of Internet Explorer on Windows 2000 and Windows XP

Notice that the syntax in the examples is messed up but there
is enough information in the rest of the article to figure out what
it should really be.

In particular the metadata #e is ambiguous. Some people
interpret that it should be coded as is and some other examples
will show you it being replaced by an actual pathname.
An alternative which works if you want to download into the same
directory that the ie6setup is in is to ignore the parameter entirely:

ie6setup.exe /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d"

BTW I don't think that this syntax is restricted to the OS the article
was written for.

That may be the easiest option. You can order IE6sp1
on CD. Go to the IE Home page for details.
