Any one else noticing that when you hit the "Enter" key, you need to
do it slower now?

For example, I go to my favorite search engine, type in something to
search for, then hit "Enter". For me, I have IE set to show the "Send
information" warning, so I have to hit enter again.

Normally, I could hit this fairly quickly. Now I have to pause before
the second hit.

Uninstalling the following update "fixes" this issue.

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-016
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (928090)

Please contact MS Product Support Servies for assistance. You *should* have
MS07-016 installed.

Customers in the U.S. and Canada can receive technical support from
Microsoft Product Support Services at 1-866-PCSAFETY. There is no charge for
support calls that are associated with security updates.

International customers can receive support from their local Microsoft
subsidiaries. There is no charge for support that is associated with
security updates. For more information about how to contact Microsoft for
support issues, visit the International Support Web site:

Not much else to add here...

With the patch in place, the above occurs.

When it is not installed, thinks are OK.

This happened on two different machines with two different OS, so the
patch is at fault...not the hardware or base OS.

Thanks.

And have you contact PSS yet?

Is Zone Alarm installed?

ZA is not installed.

I don't see why calling PSS would be of any use...since the problem is
easily reproducible...and the "fix" will have to be a new patch.

Thanks.

So the only /possible/ reason the issues occur with MS07-016 installed is
that something's amiss with the update itself? I'm sorry, but the absence
of problems with the update not installed does not necessarily mean that the
update is the cause of the problem, epecially when millions of other users
do *not* see these issues with MS07-016 installed.

If you'd prefer running an unsecure version of IE and Windows, that's your
choice. I don't think it's a wise one myself.

I look at it this way -

I don't install every update just because MS says I should. On the
other hand, I wait at least a week before I install anything...so that
others can find the bugs first. :-P

If I did call, it would only be to report the issue...not to use my
machines as test beds for troubleshooting. MS has their own paid
people for this.

Have you yourself tried this for yourself? What was the outcome?

Personally, everyone I know turns off the warning messages...so
perhaps this is why "millions of other users" don't see this issue.

Thanks.

I have two WinXP machines, one with IE6 and one with IE7. Both have
KB928090 and neither has any problem.

I don't know.

All I know is that it happens here, so I won't be updating until the
next go-around.

Thanks.
