Your.com and Digimedia.com

[Lincoln]

Every time I try to access sites like www.lycos.com,
www.ask.com or www.askjeeves.com, I am automatically
routed to something like www.www.lycos.com.org which then
redirects you to YOUR.com. This is extremely irritating
and I have been trying for a week to have this removed. I
have tried using SPYBOT but that didn't help. If any of
you have found a work around to this, please help me.

lycos.com.org = Digimedia
your.com = Digimedia
Digimedia = wishbone.com (known toolbar parasite)
Did you look in Add Remove?
Note: all of these are targeted in my HOSTS file. (see below)
"your.com" and "lycos.com.org" will be included in the *next* update.

Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.

You may have the QHosts trojan virus.

After cleaning the trojan virus off with the anti virus of your choice, you
need to patch your system so that it can
not be exploited by the same virus again.

Microsoft has released a patch for the vulnerablity exploited by the trojan
virus.
