Newbie CSS question

I've been using CSS to control lots of things on my ASP.NET website. I
finally found out how to control the default font for the entire
website. Everything is in tables and I had to add a TD to the BODY CSS
class.

That's all fine and dandy but it also wiped-out the background colors I
had set for all of the tables. These are not ASP.NET tables, just plain
vanilla HTML.

Is there a way to overcome this side-effect of adding a TD to the BODY
CSS class? How now do I control the table background colors?

Very hard to tell without seeing your CSS.

I strongly suspect your "BODY CSS" has a background as well as foreground
properties.
