IE5.5 Div Overflow Problems

Did someone tried to give to a div the style property overflow. ?

Well i tried adding to a list inside a div (with overflow-y:auto) and when i
am adding new <li> into the list (With jScript) i cant see them but when i
resize the page ...Oops....i can suddenly see the new <li> tags that i have
just added ...conculsion...-->maybe a graphic refresh problem ?

My version of IE is 5.50.4522.1800 -128 Bit.
