folder. And when you closed OE it offered to compact messages and you
said yes. Then next time you opened OE some or all of your messages
were missing in the Inbox.
What you want to do is go to the Recycle Bin and restore the Inbox.BAK
file from March 20th. Note the ORIGINAL LOCATION of the file.
Make sure that OE is CLOSED. Then go to the original location of the
Inbox.BAK file. There rename the INBOX.DBX file to something else such
as Inboxold.DBX. If there is already a file by that name, pick a
different one such as Inboxold2.dbx.
Then rename the Inbox.BAK file to Inbox.DBX.
When you reopen OE it will have all the messages that were there prior
to the compact on that date.
