I have been fooling around with this for awhile, and it works now!! Let me
tell you what I tried. I saved it on a floppy along with some Eots that
Cheryl sent and then tried it on my old Win 95 puter, it worked. Then I
thought it must be the eots that I had created and had in my Weft folder and
those were the ones that won't work!! Cheryl's did but why won't my eots,
what is wrong with them? Any thoughts? On this computer it also works just
fine but not with my eots!! Guess I should save some more of the eots that
were posted today, ;o)

Thankyou both for your help!

Glad it is working for you now Shari....been following the thread to see
what was up. I guess you will be downloading all the eots. Will have to
wait for Cheryl to answer your question....she is the one that I know that
has a lot of information about EOT.

You made those EOTs? How long ago? A while ago?
Were they web EOTs or Email EOTs?
I ask these questions as I have seen a lot of problems with some of the 'older'
eots...the ones that were made back in the WEFT 2 days.
Why don't you send me (you can send it to my home addy) and I'll peek at the EOT
and see if I can find something obvious in it.
In the meantime grab some more of the ones I posted yesterday...I know they all
work.

Thankyou so much for taking your time to look into this for me! It seems as
if none of my eots that I created will show in Bill's EZ program. I even
dragged a couple in the new folder I created for the EZ Eot program, but
still they will not show. I'm still curious as to why yours work and mine do
not! ;o) If you should find out I sure would like to know also!

Shari's EOT:
Looks like it's working correctly as an EOT Shari, it just did not render
correctly in the EOT viewer.

Of all the fonts I posted yesterday, there were about 4 or 5 that also did
not show up in his viewer.

Maybe we need to look into what's going on with the viewer, but the good
news for you is that your EOT still works!

It might, just might be because you used spaces and apostrophe's in your path
inside of your EOT...
Open your EOT up in notepad and you'll see what I'm talking about.
You may want to try to make an EOT and put no spaces and no apostrophes in any
path.
Just a thought.....

Or if you don't have the current version or WEFT, and if you still have the
actual TTF that you made this EOT from, send me the font and I'll make it into
an EOT and we'll see if my version of it shows up...that would really be a good
test of Bill's viewer now that I think of it.

Sorry for yelling...but it was kind of like an 'Eureka'
The reason your EOTs do not show up in Bill's viewer is that you do not have
reference to plain ol' Drive C:\ in your EOT.
Your reference was to a subdirectory on Drive C, which nobody else has.

I just tested it out...made an EOT with ONLY the MHTML mirror site..it worked as
an EOT just fine but it did not render correctly in the viewer.
Then I made the EOT again, this time adding drive C:\ as well as MHTML and it
showed up as the correct font in Bill's viewer.

I think if you look at your EOTs in notepad you will see that none of them are
made with a plain ol' reference to drive C.

When I made an EOT, I actually reference drive C, drive D, and drive E as well
as MHTML.

I can't believe I forgot about that...I knew that at one time...

I would say 'one problem solved' and 'one new problem has come up'.

The solved problem is why some EOTs don't show up on your viewer...it's because
the creator did not include the mirror site of at least C:\. Actually creators
should put in the mirror sites of C:\, D:\, and E:\ when they make EOTs so they
could be seen on all 3 of those drives. You can rest easy that there is nothing
wrong with your proggy :-)

The new problem is why some people did not see the EOT that Shari sent over when
I put it in a stationery. I would be willing to chalk that one up as a
fluke...unless we start reproducing this problem with other EOTs too....I have
NOT heard any other comments on all these EOTs that have been posted in the last
couple days of other EOTs misbehaving. Let's just keep our eyes open for this
to happen again. I mentioned earlier that some EOTs that were made in older
versions of WEFT did act up some time, but EOTs made with this latest version of
WEFT are more 'stable' you might say. So let's just hope this was one isolated
case of an EOT being 'funky'.

As I just replied to Bill a little further up in this thread, let's hope this
is just this one EOT acting up...I hope we don't see this recurring!
I haven't heard anyone mention not seeing the intended EOT with all the other
EOTs that have been posted here the last two days so maybe it's just a problem
with this one only...I sure hope at least.

Hi All you junior detectives :-)

I've been gone today....so what I get from this thread is that it is just the XP viewers who did not see Shari's EOT, right?

Both Cyrille and I used it in the group.

And you XP'ers have seen all the other EOTs, it's just this ONE that is a problem, right?

Ok, here's what I'd like to test....Shari or anybody else, do you have the CareBear TTF itself so someone (I would be happy to)  can re-make that one particular EOT  with all the correct file extensions etc, and on the latest version of WEFT and all that good stuff?

I would like to see if it's that one TTF or if it was the way the EOT was made somehow that is causing the problem...

Correct, Pola

That is what I would expect you to see....
Looks as if we are just now closing in on all the individual problems with this
one EOT that Shari made:

1. She did not include the C:\ root drive as a mirror site when she made it,
so it doesn't show up in Bill's viewer.
2. This particular font is not compatible with XP...so everybody who doesn't
have XP saw the EOT when both Cyrille and I used it.

I am going to remake the same EOT just to make sure I am right in this theory
and run one more test for the group, but I'm 99% this is the answer.

I'm impressed, Cheryl! But this is yet another annoyance. Why on earth can't they take care of these details :(((((

AHA
That's it Debi

It's not the EOT...it's this particular FONT and XP.

You sent me the font and it opens just fine in my ME...here it is:

I will go ahead and remake the EOT just for the final test, but my hunch is that XP will STILL not see this EOT.
If you can't see the actual TTF, then you won't be able to use the EOT from it either!

Isn't this junior detective stuff fun? LOL
Cheryl

(ps thanks for finding the TTF for me)
