I need help on how to resolve an Internet Explorer Script
Error message that comes up when I open my dial-up
networking folder. No one seems to know anything, and its
not listed on Microsofts support site. Was hoping someone
could help before I have to fork out $$$ for a technician
to sort it out

Internet Explorer Script Error
!An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line 53
Char 13
Error: Object expected
Code 0
URL file://C:\WINDOWS\Web\default.htt

When the folder does open, the following is displayed
across the top
::(20D04FEO-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D) \::(21EC2020-3AEA-
1069-A2DD-08002B30309D)\::(992C-F557-101A-1069-
88ECOODDO10CCC48)

If I then double-click my network connection the following
error message comes up.

Internet Explorer Script Error
! An error message has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 63
Char: 9
Error: 'gTimer' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: file://C:\WINDOWS\Web\default.htt

If I follow the process through and dial up my ISP, it
will find the host computer, but will reject my username &
password, even though I have rung my ISP to confirm them.

I have replaced this default.htt file with another from a
PC that is connecting to the internet, but it hasnt done
anything. My suspicions are that the error is occurring
somewhere else but I cant find any info on the microsoft
website. And because i cant connect to the internet, I
cant install any upgrades or fixes (as Im currently using
a spare PC).

I would appreciate any help on this issue, as I need my PC
up and running ASAP before this spare PC is moved and I am
isolated from the Net!!!

Those series of numbers should be in the registry - they are called
CSLID.... search for each individual series of numbers in the registry and
post the results here.

I don't know if this will help but I kept getting the same syntax error
etc. like you so I went to C:\WINDOWS\WEB and
moved the default.htt to a safe folder not in my windows like in C:\My
Documents\My eBooks and the error stopped the default.htt is hidden so
under tools\folder option or where you can custom your folder uncheck the
hide etc. so that all files are unhidden and do a search for default.htt
then move it out hope this will help
