Internet Explorer sends error message

On my windows 98 machine using a high speed connections,
when trying to launch Explorer I recieve the error
message "This program has performed an illegal operation
and will be shut down.
On my networked computers I have now problem making a
connection. One is a Mac and the other is a Windows XP
machine.
Thanks for any suggestions.

This question is not related to the 'Internet Connection Wizard', to which
this group is devoted. Please post to a relevant newsgroup. We need more
information to be able to help you. Click on the details button
(or details link) when your system crshes and provide:

xxx caused an xxx in xxx at xxx:xxxx

or if you are using a later operating system, provide information about the
files (modules) involved in the crash.

If you are using the Error Reporting Tool, disable it so you can access the
error message in a more understandable form. Informationon how to disable
the Error Reporting Tool is here:
