IE 6 Work Of line does not remain uncheck

I went into Tools> Internet Options >Connections

Never Dial a Connection is always Checked

However, every time I open Internet Explorer

I notice that "Work Offline "is always checked

Also Despite what I do in Tools> Internet Options

My new home page is always Google

1) Did I pick up a virus?
2) Should I go to Lime wire and download another copy of Internet
Explorer?
