Drive won't show in IE

I just hooked up a 512 mb flash drive to the USB port. It does not see
the drive when I open windows explorer. I am using windows ME. It
does see the drive (H) under system information/system
summary/components/storage/drives and also at the dos command prompt..
Can someone tell me why I don't see it in explorer?
