In addition to using whatever keyboard combination ( or the windows
charmap utility), you should ensure your message is composed using an
appropriate charset - probably NOT the standard windows char set which,
although it contains the Euro sign at postion 128 ( or hex 80 ) is NOT a
recognized Internet standard and certainly not recognized by many
non-microsoft mail/news readers around ! So ensure your message is
composed using the ISO-8859-15 aka Latin-9 charset , and not the Latin-1
( because this charset does not contain a Euro char although Microsoft
will use its own extended charset in place, this is non standard and
many readers will not be able to decode the Euro sign ), and of course
NOT us-ascii !

As a test of your installation, I am posting using OE5.5 and thelatin-9
charset, and
here € you should see a Euro sign ...
