Thankas are Buddhist paintings that depict Enlightenment. Traditionally, the
commissioning of Religious Art was believed to earn religious merit, which
would give rise to future benefits and happiness.

Each THANKA is carefully and meticulously HAND-PAINTED in Nepal on
lightweight Indian cotton. Many contain 24 carat GOLD, and take an average
of 20 days to complete.

Thank you all for your nice comments. I made this post because I think this
artist deserves recognition for his work and Thanka art, although not very
well known, is a very interesting art and worth while to study. So I do hope
you will take some time and visit Gurmi Lama's website.
