I sent the following post to Delltalkforums
I have a Dell all-in-one 924 printer. When I print from My Documents
everything prints OK but when I go on the Internet and print, the size of
the print has been very small this past week or so. Today it was almost
microscopic. If I go to Tools - Print Size and select Largest, it still
prints very small. Isn't this option for the printer rather than the screen.
I'm beginning to think I am wrong about this. If not how can I enlarge the
print? This happens when I go to the Internet via Internet Explorer 7 using
my Verizon DSL and when I go to the Internet via MSN Premium using my DSL,
and when I go to the Internet using AOL. I also have Mozilla Firefox and
when I print from there it prints OK. Do you have an explanation. Were it
not for Firefox printing OK I would think that maybe the web sites set it up
this way voiding the print size selection on the Tools menu. I thought that
possibly this was the case because when you try to print a document in
regular or medium size it sometimes runs of the right edge of the page and
the only way to correct it is to make print screens of the pages (not a very
practical thing to do)
Since sending it, I have discovered that the problem lies with IE7 I. see
IE7 info Advanced Printing - Automatically scales a printed webpage so that
it's not wider than the paper it will be printed on. Internet Explorer also
includes a multi-page print prieview with live margins, resizing text to
avoid document clipping, and an option to print only selected text.
Please answer the following questions: If you go to olls menu and select
print size this is only for one-screen text true or false.
How can I get IE& to print in normal size and have this be the default. I
would still like to be able to manually change to small print so it won't
print off page in certain documents. Printing off page was always a problem
with many web documents but changing the print to so small was not a good
solution on the part of IE7. I have found that sometimes web pages print
very small and at other times almost microscopic. I do not know if this has
anything to du with my tools settings possibly being set to medium rather
than largest. Please explain.
Also why is thre no IE7 board?
