Running Win98/SE, IE 5.5, while browsing get message: 'EXPLORER - INVALID
PAGE FAULT IN MODULE KERNEL32.DLL AT 0187:bff7a4b2' and my System freezes.
Only way to restart my computer is by powering machine off/on. This is not
the first time I have gotten this problem. Does anyone know of a fix? Please
advise.
Thanks,
Patrick Corbett

I suspect it could be Napster. I have a DSL connection so I'm on all the
time. Other wise I guess IE 5.5 is buggy. Doug

See these articles for more information - there are several causes for this error, a most common one:

Error Message: IEXPLORE Caused an Invalid Page Fault...
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q155/1/16.asp
In IE 4/5, usually fixed by updating video drivers

Err Msg: Invalid Page Fault in Module Apitrap.dll
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q224/8/13.ASP
(also includes your error message)

Err Msg: Mprexe Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Kernel...
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q187/9/65.ASP
(same here)

If no joy, see:
How to Troubleshoot Invalid Page Faults in Internet Explorer http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q186/0/49.asp

Also go to Start...Settings...Control Panel...Add/Remove and uninstall Comet Cursor.
And finally, do a Start...Find...Files for advert.dll. If found, rename it with an .old extension.
