IE 5.5 Update Problems

IE does not automatically update itself - there has to be some intervention on the user's part to okay the update. IE can check for updates automatically - see Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, Browsing section, "Automatically check..."

Thanks I'll have a look at that link.
BTW, I realise that there needs to be user intervention to carry out the
update.

I have managed to uninstall the IE5.5 update, now back to IE5. Everything
<seems> to be working OK now.
