I just recently ran into a problem where my IE would crash everytime I would
try to open it. I probably need to reinstall but do not want to lose my
favorites. Someone told me that it should be in
C:\DocumentsandSettings\Username\Favorites but they are not. Please help me.

It depends on what operating system you are using.
What you have been told applies to XP, which you don't have if you
have IE5.
Try C:\Windows\Favorites if you have Win9x or just search for a folder
called Favorites.

Reinstalling IE is unlikely to cure any problems and you may not even
be able to do it if your operating system came with IE5 as standard
(i.e. Win98 SE)
What is your operating system?
