As you need all the software groups listed in the scope for the GPO, then
ALL software packages in the GPO get installed/uninstalled if the computer
is a member of only one of those software groups. To prevent this, I've
removed the 'other' software groups from each package, but to do this I've
had to break the inheritance.
So my question is (after all that!), is it important to keep the inheritance
from the GPO itself down to the software packages listed inside?
Oh, if it helps, the only reason I'm doing it this way is that I'm led to
believe a single GPO for each piece of software might make booting up a long
long process because of all the GPOs that have to be sent to the machine.
Is that correct?
Thanks,
Steve :)
