It will be reseted. ;) dcgpofix does not create a new policy.

You can export your current settings with the GPMC and import them back into
a new Policy. Then link this new GPO to the Domain and delete the old
Default Domain Policy (not just the link). Then run dcgpofix and a new DDP
will be created. Then you just have to order those two policies or just
unlink/delete the old (but newly created with your imported settings). ;)

I opted to test.:
I want to create a dummy new domain/forest with one DC in my production and
tamper the DDP and then will try your procedure.
Any possible problem if I create a dummy domain in my production net, with
different name of course.
