I have a problem with an app which I installed with GP with the "uninstall
when out of scope" option. The app is a flash MSI which is causing errors :
Event ID: 104 & Event ID: 108

I had to manually uninstall the app to update to the latest version of flash
(to overcome security weakness in the older version)

How can I edit the registry or the AD, or the GP to stop logging these
errors

regards

frank

Frank,
Can we just get this straight.
When you removed the computer from scope, the application should have
uninstalled. What error exactly did you get at that stage?
Then you manually uninstalled the app. How did you do that? What errors did
you get when you tried to uninstall?
Can you give the text of the errors you have now?

First I tried via appwiz.cpl, Then (as I wanted to install a newer version
to overcome security problems with flash) I did a serch of the hard disk and
removed the flash.ocx and other files from the flash subdirectory in
%windir%\windows\system32.

INterestingly whilst attemtping to install the latest flash msi manullay
(i.e. not through GP) I got a similar error: "Error 2753.The File
'FP_AX_MSI_INSTALLER.exe' is not marked for installation". When I installed
via the exe it worked.

Also the latest version has put the flash files into
%windir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash, which might be more accurate for the 64
bit windows 2003 terminal server.

My guess is that the original MSI was a bit dirty, and this is what has
caused the headache.

Frank,
There is a Flash Player Uninstaller that should remove all previous
versions.
If that does not work, you can use the Windows Installer Clean-up Utility
(msicuu) to remove Windows Installer information about the Flash Player
installation.
Let us know if you still have a problem after that,
