I have created some Group Policy Objects in the Group Policy Management
snap-in that should be applied to the domain Computers, rather than the
domain Users. (Restricted Groups, offline files and so on). My problem is,
I can't find within the Group Policy Management snap-in where to link them!
I can't find either the OU 'Computers' that is listed in the AD Users and
Computers window, or the 'Domain Computers' group that the domain computers
are members of. It seems like under the old style of Group Policy management
(where it was managed on a tab of a Users and Computers object's properties),
I just linked policies to the Computers OU itself, but the method for doing
that has apparently changed, and I can't find the new way of doing it!

Would someone please tell me where to link policies with Computer
Configuration settings in it?

Hi-
The Computers container (as well as the Users container) in AD is not an OU.
It is a container object. Thus, you cannot link GPOs to it. If you want a
GPO to apply to computers in that container, you would have to link it to
the domain level in GPMC. In that case, the GPO will apply to all computers
in the domain. Or, you could move those computer objects into a proper OU
and then link the GPO there.

I tried that, I'm just sure of it. But after reading your reply, I tried it
again, and this time it worked.

Thanks for having the 'magic touch' :-)
