Right. Expected behavior. That�s why GPPs are PREFERENCES and NOT!
Policies.

First guess: Wrong sort order or wrong item level targeting
Adding a "delete" is what you need to do, to revert your settings.

I enabled logging on the policy. Here, I think, is the relevant section

Where SERVER is your print server and PRINTER is the printer definition.
