Problem uninstalling works

Recently posted this in works newsgroup but with no response. Perhaps
somebody can help me here.
I just uninstalled Microsoft works from my laptop as I never use it. I
use office 2007 and Ms Access instead. However, some directories still
refer to Ms Works with quite a large number of files in them. These
directories are as follows:
c:\works (3 files)
c:\works\msworks (1987 files in various subdirectories)
c:\program data\microsoft\works (1 file)
c:\program files\microsoft works (16 files in various subdirectories)
I should add that I uninstalled using programs/features in control
panel. Everything seemed to go OK until until I got a wierd message
about DEP which I accidentally cancelled before reading. MS works has
now disappeared from the list of installed programs and is no longer
in my start menu. So what do I do with these files that have been left
behind. Can they safely be deleted without affecting other programs.
Any helpl greatly appreciated.
