I have been developing SharePoint sites for a while using SharePoint
Designer. I now need to develop sites that look like regular Website (based
upon branded layout and look and feel) yet can be maintained in the
background via SharePoint access management tools. Essentially, the sites
would have a regular navigation bar (instead of the QuickLaunch bar) and
would contain editable content Web parts. I find it extremely difficult to
visualize what the architecture of such as site would be and do not know
which template to use/create. I have seen sites designed on ht SharePoint
platform that offers an external look of a traditional site yet have no idea
about their internal architecture.
