Hi,

I know .NET programming however i want to start learning programming
Longhorn using XAML. Has any text editor or IDE been made for this
specially, or its still the Notepad.

How do i start XAML programming and what will be the correct path. Is there
any other resource available than the MSDN Longhorn site for XAML ?

Pravin.

An independant company has created "Xamlon" (http://www.xamlon.com/) for the
current .NET classes. This is the only runtime I'm aware of specifically
for XAML apps today. As far as a specific IDE, visual studio "Whidbey"
supports xaml, and provides some intellisense. (Code behind can see controls
placed in xaml, etc), and some errors & warnings are shown.

There are some other resources for XAML programming.

Brent Rector's book Introducing Longhorn for developers (many samples in
XAML) is here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/longhorn/understanding/books/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnintlong/html/longhornch01.asp

Check out http://weblogs.asp.net/ where some developers are writing about it
(including me :) )

http://www.longhornblogs.com has great samples, especially check out Nathan
Dunlap's and Ryan Dawson's posts.

And Mr. Server Control, Nikhil Kothari is starting to post on his xaml
spline project here: http://www.nikhilk.net/Entry.aspx?id=30

Hope that helped!

I'm a big fan of the Longhorn Developer Center [1], particularly the Avalon
section [2].

But I'm hardly unbiased. : )
