I'm running EX2003 Standard on a Win2003 standard server. The server is an
AD member.
I have a user who has reasonably (!) asked for a 3GB mailbox. I did some
research and was recommended to use the ADSI Editing Tool to do this.
However I saw a warning that installing/using this tool will subsequently
prevent my using the AD Users and Computers snap-in or System Manager. Is
this correct?
regards,
Pete
It shouldnt. You could simply run it from your desktop as well.

I've never heard of that. Where did you see the warning?
Lee.

I use both ADSI Edit and ADUC on the same DC, and have for a long time.

In KB930366.
The warning reads "After you configure these attributes to a value that is
larger than 2,097,151 KB, you cannot modify these properties in the Active
Directory Users and Computers snap-in or in Exchange System Manager."
So I guess this means once I've used ADSI to up the limit over 2GB I have to
use it for any subsequent changes to this user's limits. I can live with
that but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for the fast replies gentlemen,
Pete

Yep, thats what that means. But it doesnt prevent you from using those
tools for everything else.
