Strange Behaviour

I have an application server that had some hardware issue so we decide to
move that server to new hardware. We used Acronis to take the snapshot and
restored it on different hardware.
After the restore 4 days passes.
We wanted to test the new cloned server so we brought that server on network.
that server was not able to authenticate to Domain. It was not able to
authenticate to domain eventhough the sid is same. I ran netdom /reset
computername command but it gave me access denied error. unable to establish
secure channel.
How does computer accounts validate their membership with domain ?
Simple fix to this solution is to unjoing the clone machine and rejoin the
domain,
But I woul like to know the reason behin such behaviour.
Is this issue related to timestamp of token?
