How do i open port 80 in XP x64?
You can try disabling the Windows Firewall Service in the Services applet in
order to get it installed. That's a bit extreme, and you certainly wouldn't
want to run that way permanently. Alternately, you can try configuring the
Windows Firewall to have a Web Server on the local machine. That should tell
it to let go of port 80.

I have read somewhere on the internet that XP x64 and Win 2003 share a lot
of the same 'technologie' and that port 80 is disabled by default.
Also there seems to be a 'copy' of several settings for both the 32 bit and
the 64 bit environment, could it be i need to change more settings in both
'environments'?
I do have another firewall on my DSL router, but this one has port 80
enabled (and other computers that share the same router have NO port 80
problems...), so this one won't be the bottleneck i suppose.

Finally i was able to solve my problem..... the drivers for my new HP
All-in-one (C6180) where messing things up.
I uninstalled the HP stuff, rebooted my PC, had the firewall and virusscan
temp. switched off (with disconnected DSL cable) and the installation ran
perfectly.
After that, reboot, virusscan and firewall enabled, DSL cable connected,
reïnstalled the HP drivers and still everything seems to be working fine.
It seems to be a common problem with the new HP all-in-one drivers and
Windows XP x64 / Windows 2003, because HP installs its own 'garbage.
Glad it's sorted.
FWIW - Charlie's First Rule of Printers. "Always, always, always buy
printers that talk both PCL and PS and have a network card. And that don't
require any additional software to work."
