Error is: Insufficient memory to initialize Windows

I googled and found that if you have more than a GB of RAM you can get this
error and the fix is to edit the system.ini file in windows 98 under
[386Enh] add this line "MaxPhysPage=3000". I can't get into windows 98
becase of the error so I used the command promt by itself and typed "edit
system.ini" A sort of graphical interface came up claiming to be system.ini
but there was no text anywhere that I could find. I'm lost as it's hard to
edit something you can find. If you know the answer please consider me an
idiot and explain it verbatim... ty

MaxPhysPage=30000

You missed a step.
1. Boot to the Command Prompt.
2. Enter the following command:
CD\WINDOWS
3. Then enter the command:
EDIT SYSTEM.INI

Scroll down the file to the [386enh] and add your line to it. There
should be quite a few entries in that section, and many other sections
in the file.

Ty. I tried that but the edit didn't stick because I don't know how to exit
and save using the keyboard. Help was no help as it did not indicate how to
save changes or exit from editing the file.

ok... i found "Alt" + arrow keys work and have accessed the disk. Clean up
and kill for now until I try to clone it to a Serial ATA Hdd. Thanks for
your help and the correction.
