Named: *.*
Containing text: Mssysmgr
Look in: [the folder you copied the CD to]
If that doesn't bring anything up, I don't know what to say. Based upon
research, the file belongs to a number of incarnations of image management
programs, going back to Broderbund PhotoShow Deluxe. But I see it also
mentioned as part of Nero Suite 6, which is also a likely candidate.
Does your CD Setup have a "Custom" option? If so, see what programs are
listed there as being separately installable
What I would be doing at this point is going through the CD's contents to
figure out how to install basic drivers, only, and none of the extra
software, then install each application separately if possible. But it's a
difficult science to teach. You just have to crawl through the files,
reading INF and INI files, README.TXT files, etc., Extracting archives into
new folders to see what's inside (if you can.) WinZip and WinRAR are good
tools for this.
I would also want to use REGEDIT (launched from the Start Run box) and use
Edit>Find to see if Mssysmgr is mentioned anywhere. If so, go to File>Export
and save the file to your Desktop. Then right-click > Edit, Copy/Paste into
a reply.
It'll keep you busy, if nothing else, <G>.
