Disable the task scheduler since you aren't using it:

In My Computer, double-click Scheduled Tasks, on the Toolbar click
Advanced and click Stop Using Task Scheduler.

I had this problem with Win 98 Task Scheduler whenever I boot up after a long period of power off, for example a few hours or the next day. The dialog will show this message; "Some task did not execute at their scheduled times because the Task Scheduler  Schedule was not running. You can view the list of missed tasks, and attempt to run them again  from within the Task Scheduler folders." This annoyed and puzzled me because I did not have any scheduled tasks within Task Scheduler after I had deleted all of them as I am bothered by the message each time it did not perform its task after Windows 98 is loaded and I had to click the dialog box in order to run other program. Why does it keep reminding me whenever I boot up? Please advise/help regarding this matter. Thanks in advance.

Try disabling Task Scheduler by double-clicking its icon, clicking on
Advanced, and Stop Using Task Scheduler.
